Valley Of The Sun Stage Race - By Kathryn Bertine
"My first race of 2011 was the Valley of the Sun stage race in Phoenix, AZ on Feb 11-13. Racing as always for St. Kitts and Nevis and part of Trisports Cycling, our team of 6 women had a great result. I placed 6th in the time trial, and 5th in General Classification. My teammate got 2nd in the road race and our sprinters got into the top 10 in the criterium. I am very happy to report training has been going great! I'll be focusing on as many UCI races as possible in 2011, and with the support of SKN and my wonderful husband George, anything is possible when it comes to chasing the Olympic dream.
My race calendar for the next three months is grueling but exciting! I will guest ride with a Belgian team for a few events, and looking forward to getting SKN some great international exposure. Stay tuned for details!"
