NEVIS CYCLE & TRIATHLON CLUB

(We recently reported on Shannons accident, but it seems you cant keep a good woman down, this is the latest news of her exploits)
I just wanted to let you know how this past weekend. it has only been 2 weeks since i broke my collar bone but the doctors said i could try riding "if I promised not to crash". so my coach said I could try and do the time trail since there would be no one else around to wreck with. the plan was to just try and see how it felt and maybe get a few points by placing in the top ten. as I started the race my shoulder hurt a bit but I settled into the aerobars and got into a rythm. around mile 3 I started to be able to see the girl who had started 2 minutes ahead of me so I pushed a little harder and passed her by at mile 4. it was a 8 mile loop with rolling hills and I averaged 21.9mph. after finishing my coach informed me that I got 2nd place (and that first only beat me by 6 seconds) not bad I guess for not training much for 2 weeks and having a broken clavicle. All the best to everyone down there I hope the triathlon went well this past weekend".
