General Information

 

The swim distance is 2.5miles (4km) and goes from Oualie Beach on Nevis to Cockleshell Bay on St Kitts, in 2013 there were a record number of finishers (127) and in 2011 a new event record was set by Olivier Marceau in a time of 58:09 The 2014 swim will be the 12th annual Bente Weber memorial swim which  offers the opportunity to both speedsters and adventurers to take on the best open ocean swimmers in the region and the world.

One of the attractions of this event is that it is not only a race but also a challenge, so for those not so fast or competent swimmers please feel free to use fins or a snorkel mask to get you across the beautiful 'Narrows'.

ENTRY FEES: (before January 31st)   U$65.00

                    

  • 1) RACING - Competition class, only regulation swimwear and goggles allowed, prize category.

        2) ASSISTED - Challenge category, for those persons wishing to use fins, snorkels,      masks, wetsuits, and/or flippers, non prize category.  

THE ENTRY FEE INCLUDES:

  • T-shirt
  • Finisher Medal
  • Swim Cap
  • Rescue boats and kayaks in case you need to rest, feed or stop.
  • Prizes and a breakfast party on St.Kitts after the swim
  • One way Boat transportation (from St. Kitts or Nevis before or after the swim)

 

ADDITIONAL RACE INFORMATION:

 

       Boat travel from St Kitts, boats will leave Reggae Beach bar dock from 06.30.

       Swimmers must bring proof or registration to secure free boat passage.

       Swimmers must attend the pre race safety briefing.

       Swimmers must wear the official race caps issued at the start.

      

CANCELLATION POLICY NEVIS~ST KITTS CHANNEL SWIM

With the registration to the Nevis to St Kitts Cross Channel Swim, the following conditions are valid automatically and without any exceptions.

An entry spot may not be carried over to the next year, given to another person or used for another event.

Nevis law is applicable, place of jurisdiction is Nevis.

Course description

The swim is across the channel between St.Kitts and Nevis. The start is at Oualie Beach on Nevis and the finish is on St Kitts at Cockleshell Beach. The distance is 2.5miles (4.1km).

Cape Air's Caribbean presence will expand on November 11 with the start of service between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Nevis, West Indies. Air Canada will begin scheduled seasonal service into St. Kitts' Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on December 23, 2011 for the peak winter 2011/ 2012 travel season which ends in April 2012. The non-stop flight will operate from Toronto on Fridays leaving Toronto (YYZ) at 10.20 a.m. and will arrive into St. Kitts (SKB) at 4.20 p.m. This will be the island's only non-stop commercial flight from Canada, effectively making St. Kitts and its sister island, Nevis, a more viable winter destination choice for travelers from this key North American market.The same-day return flight will depart St. Kitts at 5:20 p.m. and arrive into Toronto at 9.40 p.m.

Effective December 1, 2011, Air Sunshine will begin scheduled air service from Puerto Rico to Nevis via St. Thomas. The airline will fly into Nevis 4 days per week (Sun,Wed,Thur,Fri), overnight and return the following morning (Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat)
